Bottomline The 2008 Nissan Altima Coupe provides most of the practicality of the Altima sedan, with a lot more style. The 2009 Toyota Camry Hybrid melds the automaker's proven, hybrid system into America's bread-and-butter sedan. What's not to like?

Likes:

  • Four-cylinder is peppy, manual gearbox is economical
  • Good front seats
  • Crisp handling without impacting ride

Dislikes:

  • Trunk opening is small
  • Some road noise on rough surfaces
  • Headroom can be tight for some

Likes:

  • Adequate acceleration and great fuel economy
  • Smooth, well-controlled ride
  • Very quiet cabin

Dislikes:

  • Conservative styling, with little to differentiate the Hybrid
  • Doesn't handle as well as other Camrys
  • Difficult to maintain steady speed without cruise control
