Bottomline If you can live without top-level refinement and the latest technology, 2009 Kia Sportage is a fine little SUV and, considering its price, a genuine value. With its available V-6 engine, the 2009 Saturn Vue is a bit more fun to drive than other compact SUVs; otherwise it’s not a standout.

  • Quiet interior
  • Occupant safety
  • V-6 acceleration

  • Low V-6 fuel economy
  • Inadequate front seats
  • Steering wheel doesn't telescope
  • Limited cargo space
  • Door panels no longer ding-resistant
