Bottomline The 2008 Hyundai Tucson no longer stands out in its class for performance or safety, but it’s still a great value. The 2008 Saturn Vue isn't as large as competing models on the inside and isn't the best choice for growing families, but in all other respects, it's a much-improved vehicle.

  • All-wheel-drive system has a center diff lock
  • Roomy back-seat for two
  • Base model is a very strong value

Dislikes:

  • Styling is starting to look dated
  • Neither engine is especially frisky or frugal
  • Mushy handling doesn’t inspire confidence
  • Ride can be pitchy

Likes:

  • Quiet interior
  • Smooth ride and crisp handling
  • Backseat space
  • Occupant protection

Dislikes:

  • Ding-resistant door panels are history
  • Skimpy front seats
  • Not much cargo space
  • Steering wheel doesn't telescope
  • Lacks Bluetooth interface, even as an option
  • Unimpressive fuel economy with V-6
