Bottomline Don't look to the 2008 Ford Taurus X for driving excitement, but otherwise, it's darn near the most perfect family wagon there is. The 2009 Honda Pilot looks more SUV-like in its second edition, but it has the room of a minivan, along with some notable styling miscues and expensive choices to make from the options list. The 2008 Saturn Outlook puts a spacious, family-friendly interior above all else, and it doesn't look too much like a minivan.

  • Clever and numerous interior bins
  • Sweet powertrain
  • Adult-sized third-row seat

Dislikes:

  • That big, big grille
  • Thick styling
  • Hard plastics inside
  • Bundling of options

  • Roomy interior
  • Easy third-row access
  • Smooth ride

Dislikes:

  • Fully optioned XR models approach $45,000
  • Difficult rear visibility for parking
  • No Bluetooth hands-free calling interface
