Bottomline After years of being a second-stage alternative, the Malibu is a legitimate contender for best-in-class. The 2008 Nissan Altima Coupe provides most of the practicality of the Altima sedan, with a lot more style.

  • Relaxed on the highway, with good roadholding
  • Feels different than follow-the-crowd competitors

Dislikes:

  • Doesn’t feel very sporty
  • No Bluetooth hands-free interface
  • No screen-based nav system

Likes:

  • Four-cylinder is peppy, manual gearbox is economical
  • Good front seats
  • Crisp handling without impacting ride

Dislikes:

  • Trunk opening is small
  • Some road noise on rough surfaces
  • Headroom can be tight for some
