Bottomline While the 2009 Chevrolet Corvette provides plenty of impressive performance to dream and/or brag about, this car is not a one-trick pony. If ever there were a practical sportscar, this is it. The 2008 Porsche 911 has few peers in performance or in endurance.

  • Exceptional performance/value ratio
  • 430-horsepower "base" model
  • 505-hp Z06 and 638-hp ZR1 performance models
  • Less expensive Convertible for 2009
  • Available leather-wrapped interior

Dislikes:

  • Quality issues persist, but are getting further and fewer between
  • Base interior can feel a little drab

Likes:

  • Classic silhouette
  • Dizzying number of versions
  • Blazing power, even without Turbo
  • The best steering, period

Dislikes:

  • Teensy rear seats
  • Lots of buttons for audio, navigation, and climate controls
