Bottomline While the 2009 Chevrolet Corvette provides plenty of impressive performance to dream and/or brag about, this car is not a one-trick pony. If ever there were a practical sportscar, this is it. Though by no means a pick for daily driving, the 2009 Dodge Viper is a fantastic-looking sportscar with winning performance. Nostalgia is still a big part of the appeal, but the 2010 Ford Mustang is now every bit a modern, refined sport coupe.

  • Exceptional performance/value ratio
  • 430-horsepower "base" model
  • 505-hp Z06 and 638-hp ZR1 performance models
  • Less expensive Convertible for 2009
  • Available leather-wrapped interior

  • Quality issues persist, but are getting further and fewer between
  • Base interior can feel a little drab

Likes:

  • Bold, brash styling
  • Formidable power
  • Buttoned-down handling
  • Blindingly fast

Dislikes:

  • Doesn't like driving slowly
  • Uncivilized interior
  • Loud and rough driving experience

  • Traditional V-8 power
  • Improved ride and handling
  • Hot new interior
  • SYNC and Travel Link options
  • Great performance value

Dislikes:

  • No bragging rights regarding horsepower
  • Only five-speed transmissions
  • Hard plastics inside
