Bottomline The 2009 BMW X5 is one of the better-handling utility vehicles of any shape, and a newly available diesel makes it even more appealing, but its styling and interior fail to wow. Considering the weight of the Escalade’s image and its segment-leading performance, the 2009 Cadillac Escalade is hard to beat.

  • Big V-8 with lots of torque

Dislikes:

  • Drinks gas like water
  • Not enough high-tech optional equipment
  • Third-row seat design doesn't fold neatly
