    The variance between the expected experience along these corridors and the general trend away from driving can be better explained by "the law of small numbers," which says that if you reduce the size of a sample, you will find a few sets of data that appear to be exceptions, but they aren't really comparable. [see Kahneman, Daniel, 2010, "Thinking, Fast and Slow" page 110ff.]
