    How about we call it like it is....the officer was an assh*le, plain and simple, and the system flat out failed.

    I think the police officer was totally wrong. If a hearing impaired/speech impaired person needs an interpreter or other assistance for their physical challenge, they are SUPPOSED to be given access to those, no matter what. If the officer didn't know sign language, HE could have called in and requested an interpreter for this gentleman. It was excessive force. I think the police need to give all their officers a refresher course on how to handle situations with physically challenged drivers. The police officer in this case should have been fired and had his retirement taken away. Our society doesn't need police officers like him on the force, no matter which state they are in.

    How are you even driving if you're deaf? In many states, they have laws against wearing headphones while you're driving as you cannot hear emergency vehicles, horns, etc. Not excusing the officers actions here but at least some of the fault lies in the fact that he shouldn't have been driving in the first place.

    you are jerk, deaf people can drive just like hearing people. they use thier eyes to watch for cop car or fire truck ,etc haha get real
