The 500 ‘Large’ offers the following as standard; ABS, BAS (Brake Assist System) and ESC (Electronic Stability Control). This latter is fitted with ARS (Anti Slip Regulation). There is more: Hill-Holder, MSR (a system which ‘returns’ torque to the engine at low revs and with an active ABS), DST (Driving Steering Torque: active steering system which offers more resistance in certain circumstances) and ERM (stability control for extreme situations). Just like in the Panda, the big 500 also has the ‘City Brake Control’-system, which intervenes when there is a crash or near-crash at low speeds by means of ‘Collision Mitigation’ and ‘Collision Avoidance’. The City Brake-system is also fitted with AEB (Automatic Emergency Braking) with ‘Prefill'.

I believe the Fiat brand needs to be expanded and can serve as a strong segment of the Chrysler Groups product portfolio in North and Latin America. Once fully operational, Fiat and Alfa Romeo will give Chrysler a range of "Italian" influenced vehicles to boost profits and share assets. This new offering, while not earth shattering, furthers the goal.
