I'm "over" 65, used to race in SCCA club events and consider myself 10X the safe and courteous driver these younger morons are with their cell phones pressed against their heads with one hand or texting with both hands while steering ( ? ) with their knees. Want to bring up an issue ? Bring heavily distracted driving up by the younger generations...there is the REAL problem !

I take issue with the statement "Others argue that cautious drivers cause more accidents than they could ever prevent." I think people who say that are reckless drivers who go too fast and are too distracted. They think the guy going the speed limit is a danger because they are going so much faster. The speed difference means that when they finally notice that the car ahead of them is going a lot slower, they don't have time to slow or move without causing an accident. I submit that if they were paying attention they would see, well in advance, the car they are rapidly approaching. If I'm driving legally, but I'm dangerous because another driver wants to drive illegally, something is wrong.
