And to car follower, I do agree that at the moment you may get better service at a Ford dealer, however, much of Mazda's issues were bad leadership in their joint program, now that they are out, they are already seeing improvement in sales thanks to better management and new developments. Pickboz As someone who owns a Mazda3 skyactiv, and has researched and driven the Focus extensively, in terms of performance and drive-ability the Mazda really does win hands down, even though the focus drives great, the Mazda3 is build around a drivers experience. Now as far as styling and everything else, yea the focus definitely wins all those comparisons.

Well Benjamin, Mazda is no longer a part of the Ford-Mazda-Volvo platform since 2012, the skyactiv is their first product they developed on their own and it's not derived from the MZR at all, they seem to be completely phasing out the MZR in due time, which is good because although a great engine, it's getting old and time to move one. The Skyactiv platform is a completely new engineered system, all created from the ground up, as far as my research has seen, most actual engine parts are different, even down to the oil used, as well as the filter.

Where you get the information about the engine, can you give me the information?

Two great drivers cars. However,I would be inclined to lean towards the Ford. A person can have a better dealer experience at a Ford dealership. The future of Mazda is up in the air although it will be denied by the Company and anyone of their dealers. I predict Sergio and Company will own this Company before the decade s out. Mazda has a lot going for it however they are not selling enough vehicles to continue to make a go if it on there.
I look forward to reading comments on what I have stated.

The driving experience with the Focus is amazing and if the Mazda is better it's a matter of taste, but I find very difficult to believe. The car is not only better in the inside like the outside, it is real driving experience, the one that you can have in a car twice the price.

Don't these two cars share the same global Ford-Mazda-Volvo developed platform? And aren't the Ford Duratec I4 engines and Mazda SkyActive engines derived from the Mazda MZR engines? So these two cars are obviously not going to be too different. But I would probably pick the Mazda because they seem to be a step ahead of Ford in development.
