    How about they build the Grand Wagoneer as more a utilitarian model actually below the Grand Cherokee? A less frilly Jeep that is off-road capable and looks better muddy even. A LR "Defender" like GC that incorporates a turbo diesel engine, true 4X4 and goes after those who miss the Hummer capabilities. No leather, no navigation system, no chrome wheels, just "trail ready" and shows that even though you don't take dirt roads to the grocery store - you would very much like to! Keep it under $40,000 maybe...

    The last of the SJ Grand Waggies listed for $32000+ in 1991. They won't bother with a stripper, so $55-60K sounds about right.

    I think it is an excellent idea. Jeep has come a long way in uping the build quality of their vehicles in a short period of time. My only concern is pricing. A Jeep Grand Limited loaded up with most options runs in the mid-high $50,000.00 price range. This means the Grand Wagoneer will most likely be in the mid to upper $ 60,000.00 price range or more. This is Range Rover territory !
