    It will be interesting to compare "real world" MPG's of the ECOBoost 2.0 vs the 3.5L.

    Thank you Kurt. I think given the weight of the vehicle and especially if one opts for the 4x4/allwheel drive there won't be that much difference because the turbo will have to spooled that much more which I don't see that the MPG savings will be there.

    @Matt, the EcoBoost engine won't be offered on AWD Explorers. All EcoBoost models will be FWD only.

    This article would have been even more helpful if it said how those base prices differ from the V-6 models, if any. Price info without any context... not helpful.

    @Rich, each EcoBoost model is $995 more than the 3.5-liter V6 equivalent. To recap:

    Base V-6 is $28,995
    Base Ecoboost is $29,990

    XLT V-6 is $32,805
    XLT EcoBoost is $33,800

    Limited V-6 is $38,565
    Limited EcoBoost is $39,560
