    This kind of fits with the distractions tip in the article - leave your main cell phone at home. I'm not saying travel without some kind of phone, but I think that part of a vacation should be letting go of distractions. I say this for another reason too since its always good to travel with an extra phone in case something gets lost or stolen. I actually started doing this myself last summer when I travelled with my kids - I left my ATT phone home and bought a $20 Tracfone phone and I think it was $20 for a minute card I tried to use as few times as possible. I only gave the number to my family for emergencies and since it was a prepaid phone, I really only used for the occassional call or text. Helps keep you focused on the family.
