Sounds great to me. Ford has come a long way in a very short period of time. It's great what car companies can do when their backs are against the wall

Is the CD4 platform where the US Fusion and Euro Mondeo merge? I really like the Euro style of the newer Fords, the Focus and Fiesta.

Yes, the CD4 platform is a "world platform," from which Ford will build the Mondeo and the Fusion (and the Lincoln MKZ). Lincoln is said to be taking a very European styling direction, so if you like Ford's new look you'll probably like Lincoln's as well.

I read an article where the Escape Hybrid is used in New York City taxi fleets and has received high raise by drivers for its durability and lower operating costs. I bet they beat the crap out of those vehicles compared to ordinary drivers.

Have an '08 Escape hybrid with 80k on the clock, have spent out of pocket $1,500 for repairs to the hybrid system, $800 for a new cooling unit for the battery pack (not covered by the batteries 10/150,000 warranty-according to the dealer) and $700 for an acuator vent door for the battery pack-also not covered by the 10/150,000 warranty) Will not buy another hybrid of any make. The technology is not reliable enough, as far as I am concerned.

No, the car is obviously a piece of junk. There's no way it could possibly have anything to do with beating on it by putting 80,000 miles on it in a little over 2 years and all the numerous charge/discharge cycles that entail. No way.

41 MPG or 100 MPG I still don't want to be "MARRIED TO THE DEALER" once ya own one of these because nobody else will work on it.
