    @Simon, when the Mazda6 replaced the 626, Mazda brought in a sedan, hatchback and wagon. The wagon and hatch never sold well in the U.S., so Mazda stopped importing them after a few years.

    Perhaps the mistake Mazda made was the cost of having two different Mazda6's. Here in the UK we have the smaller 5-door and Wagon models, so there is a chance they will return to North America once there is only one Mazda6 again.

    @Rod, I agree that the current version has lost most of the earlier car's sporting feel. Let's hope they get back on track with the successor to the Mazda6.

    Sorry to see the production of the 6 end at Flat Rock. I love my 07 Mazda 6i 5-door built at that plant. IMO Mazda's mistake was to build a USA/Canada version of the 6. The missed the change to smaller and more efficient cars and lost some of the sporty "zoom-zoom" feel. I hope the next 6 will retain the 5-door and wagon models.
