Stealing photo without proper attribution FTW

Guys, I got this from Automobile deputy editor's Facebook account with his permission.

  • Matt Burns Posted: 5/14/2011 1:01pm PDT

I really don't care. It's not like TechCrunch or CrunchGear are looking for a couple spare pageviews. But seriously, that's my pic. Would you like to see the metadata?
Or I'm wrong and both your editor and I got the same exact kit, removed several random pieces of the kit and then placed said kit on the same khaki arm chair next to the same (or similar) a black printer for the pic.
Seriously, I don't need a link from you. I don't even need my name on your post. Hell, I totally forgot about this but I left the tab open. But don't pass the blame or deny responsibility. That's just lame.

As I wrote, we sourced it from Automobile, and they represented it as theirs. Our apologies that it wasnt true We can either leave it with your link or remove it, whichever you prefer.

Matt, I'll give you credit -- for being a complete tool at this point. If the author comes up with the e-mails verifying his statement that he asked for and received permission from a deputy editor at Automobile -- thereby clearing his name because he was acting in what he thought was good faith -- would you grow up, put a sock in it and apologize? Or will you come back with another whiny, snotty reply? Get a grip.

This is hilarious. I got one of these random Acura press kit things in the mail but I have it to a friend with children. It doesn't look anything like a bomb and if someone in Ann Arbor took the time to read what was written all over it they would have saved so much time. But that's hilarious. I thought it was a random thing to send out. I told Acura I would have much preferred an evening with the actor who played "Thor" but no such luck.

Wow,, I didn't read the comments before I commented but I commend you Marty for your calm response to a total non-issue. If you need a photo of the spy kit I will take a picture of it on my khaki couch (those sure are rare) and send it to you free of charge. Kind of like the rest of the photos I post on High Gear that I do get attribution but am mainly just happy that they are being used.
