    The technology is nice but in this economic climate the need for this "smart-computer-stop-the-car-before-it-hits-the-pedestrian" technology is going to have to take a back seat to just plain-old sound being awake at the wheel. Sometimes that is asking too much, but it shouldn't be. People should be awake enough to not run right in to pedestrians. It's not always 185-miles-an-hour straight ahead at no costs.
    People need to be smart about thier driving. In cases where someone isn't, the fact that they don't have this kind of technology in their car already to save the pedestrian is truly tragic.

    Are pedestrian detection and cyclist detection systems sold as accessory to add to a car ?
