Me thinks there was a concerted effort to throw dirt on a spotless reputation by inferior car makers.

  • Chris Posted: 2/9/2011 8:02am PST

I would hardly call Toyota faultless. Other manufacturers don't seem to have the higher incidence rates that Toyota did. Obviously the design of the pedal was an issue that it could get caught in a floor-mat. As for sticking pedals, well, that indicates an inferior design as well. Just my two cents.

Nobody says is Toyota is faultless, but I like the way that they (Toyota) reacts....Much better than another automakers when have a recalls, either big ones or not.

ford had more cases of drivers reporting unintended acc. than Toyota per 100,000 vehicales But was not on news every night Seem odd but oboma and unions after Toyota no wonder.

you like them so just move there i never forget what they did

  • Tom R. Posted: 2/14/2011 12:26pm PST

I fully agree with jerry!!! Everyone says they will never forget Sept.11,but I guess they forgot Pearl Harbor. Send the junk back to Japan!

  • Bobby Posted: 2/14/2011 12:43pm PST

I have worked for GM dealerships. I have seen the sudden accel issue on chevys. I found in my investigation chevys have the same problem caused by there cruise control modules. BUT NO ONE IS THROWING GM UNDER THE BUS!!!!

  • R Richardson Posted: 2/16/2011 2:02pm PST

#7 - the junk that you want to send "back" to Japan was actually made in the US, unlike the GM, Ford and Chrysler products. The "Big 3" have the same issues, but the Government wanted to make a huge issue out of the Toyota problems....maybe because they own over half of GM? Hmmmm?

  • Robert Doyle Posted: 5/25/2011 10:57pm PDT

A spotless reputation? Tell that to the frames of Toyota pickups that have snapped in half. And when Toyota’s do go wrong boy are they expensive to fix. This problem was over blown yes, yet the way Toyota handled themselves until the way they got caught was pathetic. Toyota, like the others is no saint.
Ford is just as good as Toyota these days in quality, and aren’t ugly as sin.
Where a car is manufactured has little to do with it. When you buy a car after you get past the dealership markups most of the money goes to that companies HQ. Where exactly is Toyotas? Toyota engineers, CEOs, and other high ranking officials all are in Japan. Besides Ford alone employs more US workers then Toyota, Nissan, and Honda. COMBINED. Ditto for GM.

  • Robert Posted: 5/27/2011 6:23pm PDT

Well mabe the government witch hunt. Is over. But it did cost me quit a little as I went out and bought two new Toyota as a protest to oboma motors.. The difference in quality over the ford and Chevys I have been driving is tremendous, and the Toyotas. Are American made . no more Mexican ford or Chevys only the us built Toyotas from now on.
