I agree with some of the other comments. The new 300 is good value, has a refined presence, and just sexy enough to make this list. I owned a Audi A6 Avant - a real looker and heaps cargo space. The Volvo S60 is a another good nominee for the list. How about a reader's choice?

I hope when you do that update, you add the new Volvo S60. It's a tremendous value over the German and some Japanese competitors, especially when you consider the family budget-friendly free maintenance for 5 years/60,000 miles.

Hello to all--great comments and thank you. Granted, these cars are at the upper end, and the idea was to present a list of cars with mega-horsepower, dynamic handling and great exterior design. But as pointed out, there are some more affordable family cars that are also sexy. FCG will do a list that includes them. Thanks, again, for your input.

I would have to agree with Patrick although these cars are very nice this is clearly a very extravagant selection which are only available to the families of diplomats or the extremely wealthy... I did enjoy the article though.

With the exception of the hyundai, none of these cars are priced for the average middle class american family. Here are my picks for the more realistic sexy family cars.
    1. 2011 Chrysler 300, always sexy and available 6.0l 425hp V8 for half the price of most of the above cars.
    2. Audi A6, you have gotta see it in person, kinda pricy though.
    3. Hyundai Genesis, great styling and strong V6 lineup.
    4. Chev Malibu, economical and very handsome interior to compliment the exterior.
    5. Dodge Charger, not quite the sexy type but adds a musclular flare to the list many families will enjoy, plus the same powertrain as the 300.
    Who else wants to add?

What kind of families are we talking about? I know my family can't afford a $100,000 car. How did the Taurus SHO not make the list? It boasts the same hp as the Equus, better MPG than all of them, and starts at $37,000. Doesn't that seem like an ideal family car? I don't think a story about family cars should only represent the upper class families (5% of society).

An Equus is not sexy ...
