What about the Turbosteamer concept by BMW then?

If you've ever crept along in gridlock and noticed the floor of your car getting a little warm
So the problem we're trying to solve is too many cars on the highway.
Our solution: Turn the wasted energy into electricity to gain 5% to 15% improvement in idle gas mileage?
It's called a thermocouple. We use them every day to detect pilot lights in water heaters and furnaces.
It's also very poor at creating current and high voltage (lots of watts) due to the expensive nature of the metals per watt and their relative weight.
But that's ok, let's take our $15,000 Honda and add $50,000 in luxury metals and ask for grants to produce these things. While we're at it, let's add wind turbines for high speed electric current (hint: sarcasm).
