    Where are the VW TDI's?

Bill, the EPA's list considers city fuel economy numbers first. So, using that criteria, the compact VW Jetta and Golf with diesel engine and manual transmission achieve EPA-estimated 30 mpg city/42 mpg highway. So, they just miss the list.Ditto Audi A3 manual, diesel and the auto/manual diesel-powered VW Jetta Sportwagen, all at 30/42 city/highway mpg.

Jon, thanks for your comment. Here at FCG, we try to maintain a neutral position. But the 2011 Lexus HS 250h is a five-seat luxury sedan that happens to be a hybrid. Is it worth starting MSRP of $34,650 for the base model (which is very well equipped) or $37,420 for premium? Only you can decide. Why not take it out for a test drive with the family and compare it against other hybrids?
