    I love that you used a pic of a '79 Lincoln to illustrate your point...very ironic and funny.
    The economic situation is causing a great surge in creativity. New car dealers are focusing on used cars and fixed ops to keep them in the black. I believe there is a shift also now in how customers decide to buy cars. If there is a relationship with the dealer or an employee then they are more likely to buy from them. Social Media gives dealers a great tool to build on these profitable relationships.
    Those dealers that utilize this great new medium will not only make money in uncertain times, they'll be trusted by their current customers who'll give them positive word-of-mouth.

    With these uncertain times there are less people willing to take a walk out on a pond to see how thin the ice is.
    Until the confidence of having a job or the opportunity for getting a better job is felt then people are batting down the hatches to ride out this economic storm which looks to be a good 5 years out.
