    I suggest that if your car buying experience leads to the salesperson throwing your paperwork in the wastebasket, perhaps you need to re-think your own formulaic ritual. In my experience, a lot of the customer's car-buying pain is self-inflicted. The inability to agree to a fair deal due to a compulsive need to "out-negotiate" the dealer causes more showroom angst than that caused by actually getting a bad deal.
