I own a 2006 Jepp Wrangler Unlimited 4x4 that I purchased in September of 2006 from a local dealer. I can't find the manufacatured date but it was delivered to my dealer on 9-7-06. I have nothing but problems with the brakes since I got it. Two complete sets of rotors were replaced for warping (the first one within the first 8 months after I got it) and now I have this loud squeeking noise that also causes a slight shudder on take off from a stop. It also makes a rubbing noise that sounds like plastic on plastic (like a balloon on balloon sound) at times. I took it to the dealer and they told me that my brakes were not hitting my rotors completely since there is a rust ring on the outside rim of my rotors. Now it makes a loud clicking noise. I have stopped driving it even though the dealer tells me it is safe. Now I see this recall notice online....very intersting. My brake pedal needs to be all the way to the floor to stop and it doesn't respond like it did before. Not sure what is going on but you can bet I will find out now. Paying what I did for this Jeep and that is not the only problems I have had with it either.
