Toyota should have came forward with a full disclosure. Instead of waiting for a huge media blitz and tons of public pressure. I never seen so many car companies having recalls all at the same time. I had no idea my car was affected until I searched on http://www.carpedalrecall.com and found I had a bad Anti Lock control unit on my 2008 Pontiac G8 , So be careful

It is natural that other automakers would want to increase their sales and boost their popularity at the expense of Toyota. However, these companies should not take this situation as a blessing for them because people have allegedly died due to it.

So how we find the video for this, its probably actually hilarious.

come on everyone, we can laugh. even in the face of difficulty or tragedy, it is ok (on occastion) to chuckle at something that is clearly NOT trying to minimize those more tragic elements of something, but instead having a laugh at the overall stupidity. my $0.02

How typical that your second comment is an accident lawyer trolling for links. "Samantha Rogers," huh? Right.
I actually think the visual is hilarious. Only in the U.S. would we get all offended over this. Cars crashing through garage doors is the oldest gag in the book (see Hardy, Laurel and). Lighten UP, folks. Sheeeeesh.

offcourse its funny, if we cant laugh at these type of things ,then what can we laugh about, lighten up folks!!!

  • curt Posted: 3/1/2010 6:25pm PST

Yeah, lighten up everyone and laugh.

All the veterans of Pearl Harbor would roll over in there graves if they knew that Americans were buying Japanese products. Wake up America you are selling your self out. Japan is winning the 2nd war and making money and getting rich at it.

It is funny in an offbeat kind of way.

Just for the record: if people hadn't died as a result of Toyota's negligence, I'd probably find this ad funny, too. I like to think I've got a flexible sense of humor -- hell, I thought Sarah Silverman's "retarded" jabs at Sarah Palin during the TED conference were genius (and I don't even like Sarah Silverman).
In this case, though, it feels like the joke's coming a little too soon. Also: the ad seems calculated to get attention and garner ad awards, which always seems desperate and sad in my book.

if people died because they drove a POS Toyota they deserved it.
