Sad day today, as I'm typing this there's an old woman laying dead in the street next to my apt bldg. Gas pedal stuck on a Toyota Matrix and the driver hit 2 cars in the parking lot, swerved out onto the street hitting this lady and then crashed into the median. I hope you have to a pay that womans family a huge settlement Toyota. You should be ashamed.

My company puts alot of hard working americans to work. Do you people realize how many GM-Ford vehicals are build in Canada? Not the companies fault though. If if was not for the pampered union worker crying over 50cent health care raises and flat out being lazy, the company could breath a little. Not the same union, not the american cars. Long story short, Obama is our president. SERIOULSY!!!

Witnessed the Toyota recall first hand. A fellow motorist was driving a late model Avalon and comming up to an intersection was unable to stop. Thankfully she stopped almost midway through the intersection and had not collided with anybody. We checked on her and her passenger. Besides being a little freaked out the situation, see ripped out the floormat and through it into the back seat. Hopefully it was the floormat and not this. Toyota should have taken the initiative to correct this problem as soon as they should have, not until they could no longer hide it...

toyta's are not made in america. they are ALL MADE IN JAPAN! they only employ a very small amount of americans to assemble them, so toyota doesnt have tariffs. toyota destroys american jobs, they undeservingly took over the market with their inferior cars. they sell the most cars to us but employ the least amount of american workers. our jobs are going back to japan where toyota has slaves do it for cheaper. why do so many people blame the americans. our quality is unsurpassed. we hold the most million mile records. we use high quality material, and heavy duty parts.

My wife just bought a 2010 Chevy Equilnox, MADE IN CANADA might I add, and one week into having it the dash board went blank. Computer froze. It was a recall, have you heard about it? No. Talk about almost rear ending someone when you car controls go dark and starts blowing out 100 degree for no reason. I agree, the pedal thing is a bad one. But so is Ford's cruise control catching on fire. How about the fact that Mopar stands by there cars with a 36000 mile warranty only. Almost every car put on sales floor has recalls. And recalls get fixed. I drive Toyota, because they are the best vehicles made today. If we were in the 1960s-1970s, that would be different.

    Hi,
I have a toyota corolla 2008. How sure can I be that it is safe to drive.
How can I be sure that the gas pedal is made be Denso instead of CTS.
They may not want to check it if it is not on recall.

He Mike, Toyota is made in Nord America, maybe that's why, hahaha, by the way, the Toyota's have timing chains nowadays, so no replacement (and cost) necessary
Ford has the same problems with the pedals, so.....the rest will folow?

  • JOe Posted: 1/27/2010 10:39am PST

if you throw it in neutral you'l burn our the engine

  • jase Posted: 1/26/2010 3:28pm PST

ummm...toyota could have mentioned to place the car in neutral if experiencing acceleration, nawww...they just tell ya to apply the brakes firmly....lol....reallly come on people.....THROW IT IN NEUTRAL!

I am having great problems with Toyota corolla it is ridiculous. i wonder how long will it take to get it fixed

  • b santiago Posted: 1/25/2010 7:07am PST

us auto makers made great cars back in the day. why can;t htey tranfer that expertise to other models why not go back to basics nascar style. i own a1989 taurus wagon with over half a million miles that all you have to do is show her the key and she starts right up this cannot be afluck it is a well made car.

Because of this mistake by the company, a lot of people are having second thoughts about buying cars manufactured by Toyota.

  • Thomas Posted: 1/22/2010 4:01pm PST

Mike....if the US made fuel efficient cars that were cheap like the Japanese we would not need to send or money to foreign countries....but America (in the past) has made total JUNK!
I remember a massive car recall in the 70's due to cars exploding into fireballs when they were rear ended

  • Mike Posted: 1/22/2010 11:28am PST

Americans who buy cars from foreign companies are stupid anyway. They are watching their own neighbors lose jobs and their government lose its tax base .Thats why they get fooled into believing they are buying something better when they are not. Ask any person driving a Toyota ,a basic mechanical question such as whats a timing belt or what size engine is in your car? They won't know,so how would they know anything technically at all about how one car is better than another? I think I'll make a bumper sticker that says "all Toyota's please pass me up and drive in front in case of full acceleration ,except the Tundras with the frames falling off. Tundras please stay behind."

  • Business Posted: 1/22/2010 7:56am PST

I understand Ford is actually more dependable than Toyota now. But the opposite perception still remains.

  • cptamazing Posted: 1/22/2010 6:31am PST

HA HA , you foolish americans have been sucked in by Toyota for so long , now you get what you deserve. LONG LIVE GM AND FORD.

  • darren Posted: 1/21/2010 8:41pm PST
