the post is not correct, the car the show in the picture not coming to usa,
yo can see the car in mazda.usa, the front is less sporty, and ugly for me, the one the show here is nice.

Mazda needs a 2 Door Hatch for real Zoom-Zoom...& make it union made in the U.S.A., unlike Ford's Fiesta el Mexico. The 4 doors are blah-blah. 2 doors fit value minded 6' 240 lb muscular American consumers. Offer a base 2 door NO pwr windows, NO pwr locks, NO pwr mirrors, NO elecro stuff(no Nav, MP3 etc; offer as add-on only) and permit AC, ABS, and Manual/auto trans. options only...Pounds for safety and durability not 1 oz for junk will distinguish the product in a market overwhelmed with too many products that offer low value at a high price, and too few choices of type of style ( lots of mini-vans, sedan/saloons, trucks/crossovers...but few 2 door hatch in the U.S.A.. It is economical across the globe to offer all styles; but in the U.S. we get the leftovers...again. So much for freedom of choice.

Should be perfect for city driving.

This one cries for a hybrid or electric version -would make it even better!

The Mazda2 is a neat little car. I can't wait to see it on local roads.

The Mazda2 is a nice car but the Ford Fiesta, which uses the same platform is better. Funny how there have been no great small cars for years and suddenly we'll have 2!

small cars should perform well in this type of economic climate, would be ineresting to see how well they would perform against fiat

  • Skeptic Posted: 9/18/2009 1:20pm PDT

Yeah that interior's gotta go. Fiesta one's much nicer.
Wonder if Ford will build these for Mazda in the states just like they build the Tribute sport utility off the Escape?

This is one hot car! Any safety info and how would it perform in the snow?

  • marquis Posted: 9/18/2009 11:38am PDT

I like how they're not trying to make it some type of crossover or activity vehicle -- just an honest little high-mpg hatchback.

  • greedo Posted: 9/18/2009 11:36am PDT

I've been wanting this for so long. Now we can only hope for the Mazdaspeed version too!

  • ffi Posted: 9/18/2009 11:25am PDT

If I saw this car on the road I would definitely think its a Fiesta, however the internals have nothing on its Ford inspiration.

Hmmm, the back seat looks like it's in the trunk. Perhaps make this a 2-door?
