    "Or not"

No disrespect, but since GM is on the dole they ought to be concentrating on products that will make them profitable, to pay us back for the BILLIONS they are taking. Taking a flier on electric pods makes no economic sense, if economics is what we're taking about here. Hugely profitable companies like Microsoft, Google and Toyota can afford these extravagances--GM cannot.

    "Or will."

If Toyota was doing this then it would be a great thing but since it is GM then it's dumb. By the way Toyota is LOSING money also so they are by no means hugely profitable.

"But GM's not making money on conventional vehicles"

R2dad make a good point that GM needs to "concentrate on making products that will make them profitable." Well they're not doing very hot with cars right now. Maybe they need to find a different product.

For as long as it's helping our environment, then there's nothing wrong producing this kind of automobile. Maybe they have other plans and other way to promote this. We don't know what's on their mind and what will be the next invention.
