I vote for the Jetta TDI and the Merc Bluetec
The other candidates are largely JOKES, or of no consequence (Genesis)

I am distressed about the people who offer their comments about articles published on this site. Most of them are patently negative about American automotive products. Indeed, there was a time (the late 70's and early 80's) when American offerings were sub-standard, but that is not true today. The Chevrolet Malibu, Silverado, Cadillac CTS, Ford Fusion, Milan, MKZ, MKS and F series pickup trucks are among the best cars in the world for the price charged.
My grandfather had a saying which went like this: "Damn a bird that befouls its own nest!" Her's to you, Ed.

Don't be distressed about people having their opinion - it's America, John. It's the last freedom we have, so let us enjoy it while it lasts.
What about the popular small cars or vans? Have the "domestic" offerings truly been that wonderful? I mean, seriously, you want people to drive Cobalts and overpriced 175 hp Canadian T&Cs instead of its competition?
And not to sound like a broken record but I'll pick up the US-made Camry or Accord over the Mexican Fusion in every case. You and your grandfather could even lock them up in internment camps but consumers are not that stupid.

The two diesels are heads and shoulders above the rest
So if I could vote, I'd go for the JETTA and the BLUTEC
Regardless how much I despise SUVs.
