    In the last paragraph, I assume the author meant to say 'it seems UNlikely, rather than likely...that Ford could get anything near the $6 billion it paid for Volvo.'
    It'd be a shame if they sold it. The article doesn't mention whether Volvo earns or loses money for Ford. But it is certainly a more main-stream, respectable and even logical brand than the Brits ever were. Buying a Volvo sounds more normal, smart and 'everyday' than saying you bought a Jag or Land Rover. Saying you bought a Jag or LR is like saying you bought a boat or vacation home. It causes a 'Wow', but not necessarily a positive one.
