    I think this a great idea that Ford should run with, London has there style cabs so why not New York. Have ya been to NYC look at all the yellow, what a great market to attack.

    I don't see why the shotgun seat has to face forward - have it face the rear so that there can be a 4th passenger, or eliminate it completely for extra legroom and luggage space.

    Or even better than a hybrid, make it an electric vehicle and locate and design the battery pack so it can be swapped for a fresh one at stations scattered around the city.

    I just went to NYC for the first time and enjoyed the carnival like ride of the taxi. We must have hit 70 on a side street. My fiance was holding on for dear life. Maybe Ford should offer a 1.0 liter engine for the taxi version.

    Seriously, why don't they raise the driver's seat so he has a better view of his surroundings? A hybrid powertrain actually makes sense in a New York cab. And I don't see why they can't add a 4th seat a-la a london cab.
