Infiniti Sketches Next G Coupe

The next Infiniti G Coupe will be shown at theNew York auto show in April.

Infiniti confirmed the show date earlier this week at the Detroit auto show, but today provided this sketch to whet appetites until New York ’s auto show, which opens to the media on April 4.

Infiniti says the new 2008 G Coupe will be paired with a luxury crossover vehicle concept. The concept is based on the brand’s rear-drive platform, not the compact Nissan Rogue crossover displayed in Detroit.

Curiously, Infiniti’s latest press release – as many have done lately – omitted any numbers after the model names. What used to be the G35 is now referred to as the G; the FX35 and FX45 are now simply the FX. An indication of bigger engines to come from the Nissan luxury brand? We’ll let you know.
