A new Shelby GT500 Mustang with 500 horsepower, a supercharged 5.4-liter V-8, a six-speed manual transmission, high-performance Brembo brakes, and other high-performance upgrades joins the Mustang lineup for 2007. In addition, there’s a new GT California package, a new GT appearance package with bright rolled exhaust tips, an engine cover with a Pony emblem and a hood scoop, iPod jacks on all models, an optional DVD navigation system, Sirius satellite radio, and two new colors, Grabber Orange Clearcoat Metallic and Alloy Clearcoat Metallic. Base models are powered by a standard 210-horsepower 4.0-liter V-6 engine. GT models get a 300-horsepower 4.6-liter V-8. A five-speed manual or five-speed automatic are the transmission choices with either engine. Both V-6 and V-8 GT versions are available in either coupe of convertible body styles; the high-performance Shelby GT500 is available in coupe form only. A Shaker 500 audio system with six-disc CD player, and Aberdeen leather-trimmed, embossed sport bucket seats may be ordered on both V-6 and V-8 GT models.
