Q--I have a 2002 Dodge Stratus, which I bought new. I noticed the other day after leaving work as I was driving down the street that when I went to accelerate the car felt like it was going to stall. For some reason I believe I may have received a half a tank of bad gas because after this happened, someone told me the Mobil station had been closed for a few days but no one knew why. What can I do?

A--The answer depends somewhat on how much gas you have in your tank and how much water is in that gas. Obviously, one solution is to take your car to a shop and have them drain the tank. This is the most expensive option. The other is to pour in a product that some people call "dry gas," which is also known as gas line antifreeze. Look for a product that contains isopropyl alcohol such as Iso-Heet. Avoid products containing methanol, such as Heet, as they won't remove as much water.
