2007 Bugatti Pur Sang
“Some customers have told us they want more (customization)” than is currently offered with the $1.4 million, 1001-horsepower Veyron 16/4, explained Franz-Josef Paefgen, CEO of both the Bugatti and Bentley divisions of Volkswagen. (“No customer,” he quickly added, “has complained about the power.”)
Five copies of the Pur Sang will be made, each featuring an unpainted pairing of carbon fiber and aluminum bodywork. To set the new look off, Bugatti is throwing in a set of high-gloss aluminum wheels with diamond cut finish.
Bugatti has so far delivered just 100 Veyrons, with “orders in hand for another year or so,” according to Paefgen. That’s a bit less than expected, and has led many observers to wonder what might be in the brand’s future. There had been numerous reports Bugatti would show up in
