This is another new model for Mercedes, introduced in early 2006 as an ’07 model. It is a seven-passenger, full-size luxury SUV with standard power-folding third row seats and a 330-horsepower 4.7-liter V-8 engine. It comes standard with seven-speed automatic transmission, Hill Start Assist, Hill Descent Control, 18-inch wheels, load-leveling suspension system, power rear tailgate, rain-sensing wipers, and multi-zone climate control. It can be ordered with an Off-Road package that includes Class IV hitch, adaptive-damping suspension system, underbody skid plates, and locking differentials. Full-time four-wheel-drive is standard. First- and second row-side-impact and full-row curtain airbags are standard, as is ESP stability control, anti-lock brakes with Brake Assist, and active headrests designed to limit potential injuries from whiplash. Major options include a DVD navigation system, rear-seat entertainment system, 19-inch wheels, adaptive cruise control, and an upgraded surround-sound audio system. Max tow rating is 7500 lb.
