The current Tahoe was launched as a new 2007 model in 2006, so updates for calendar year 2007 are modest and include new chrome grille inserts, changes to the center console and chrome outside mirror caps. Power running boards are also available. Like the ’07 Silverado pickup, the ’07 Tahoe rides on a wider chassis than the previous generation model for improved stability and ride quality. Seventeen-inch wheels are now standard and the engine lineup includes a 4.8-liter, 295-horsepower V-8 or an optional 5.3-liter, 320-horsepower V-8 with E85/flex-fuel capability. Both engines are offered with a four-speed automatic transmission. The ’07 Tahoe is available in LS, LT, and LTZ trims and either rear- or four-wheel drive. StabiliTrak stability control is standard on all trims and curtain airbags for all rows are available optionally, as are rain-sensing wipers, rear park assist, a rear-seat DVD entertainment system with eight-inch screen, first- and second-row heated seats, remote start and 20-inch wheels (standard on LTZ trims).
