  • You need a new ETM. It is covered under Volvos 10 year warranty. The ETM is an electronic throttle module. It controls pedal position, etc. Symptoms of a failing ETM are low low revs at a stop, stalling in stop in go traffic, rough idle in general, poor performence, and the ETS light.
  • Sounds as if the turbo has a problem and is not coming in.If there is a metallic noise coming from it then perhaps the bearing is worn and the impeller is hitting the casing
  • it needs to be put on diagnostic equipment before you cause major damage
  • The shop should do it. It will be about 400.
