Toyota Camry making fast clicking noise only when cold while accelerating?

I'm just wondering what it is. My father just bought a brand new Toyota Camry XLE. Recently when cold, while accelerating, it makes a fast clicking noise. He brought it down to the dealer and one of the girls, i'm assuming the operator, said alot of people have been... Read More

  • See if letting the car warm up before driving helps, ive noticed it in more than just toyotas when cold. Seems like the oil is just too thin. My grandparents Camry done that and they had 10w put in as to 5w and it helped. Might also be the crappy quality of fuel now days in the States. Put some lucas injector... Read More

  • The dealership could be using the wrong oil, if they even fill it all the way at all. Dealerships are sneaky like that. Try changing the oil and make sure you use the right stuff based on the outside temp.

Other Choices:

Except in sporty SE trim, the 2009 Toyota Camry has perhaps the softest, most comfort-oriented ride among mid-size sedans. The 2009 Chevrolet Malibu, however, also emphasizes ride quality and comfort, and it has more distinctive styling, equivalent performance, and more impressive materials and quality. The Malibu also includes electronic stability control on all of its models except the base LT. The new-for-2009 Accord has—compared to the Camry—a stunning interior, especially in the more expensive V-6 models. The Fusion and Altima have a sportier driving feel but are a little smaller inside. The Volkswagen Passat is another good alternative to the Camry—especially with the base 2.0T four-cylinder engine—but beware of spotty reliability.
