Will a corvette engine fit in a 2002 mitsubishi galant?

I know I would have to make the change from FWD to RWD. I just can't seem to find the under the hood measurements I need. Well whats a good engine for it. My engine blew, and I want a good engine that will go fast. and I just love the body style of my Galant. It's sexy lol

  • You would have to perform plenty of modifications to make the Vette engine fit. By plenty, I mean conversion of engine bay, transmission, and addition of a rear differential. I would recommend that you source an engine from a Lancer Evolution from 1997-up (i.e. Evo 4 to 9; not sure about the 10). The conversion here... Read More
  • No it will not. The cost of modifying a Mitsu Galant to take a Corvette motor would be much greater than the cost of a good used 'vette. It's only worth the effort if you like to have people looking at you like you're a moron! Want a 'vette? Get a 'vette! Want a hot Galant? Mitsu makes a lot of nice, high-performance... Read More
  • possible, probly not without making the engine compatrment bigger or you could just put the engine in the back seat and make it a midengine car, will handle better than any real corvette too!!!
  • My question would be why??? With sufficient modification you can make almost anything work, but is it worth the time and expense? I've seen a 426 hemi in a 60' VW bug, cool but crazy.
  • With a plasma cutter and my welder i can make ANYTHING fit BUT its a lot of problems you will also need some kind of chassis because the engine has a LOT more power and new springs the new engine will be heavier and a rear end for the back of the car. SAVE your money and buy a faster car it will be a LOT cheaper

Other Choices:

The Chevrolet Malibu has made the most dramatic transformation, from rental-car fodder to beautifully styled, taut-handling family sedan, with a strong V-6 backed by a four-cylinder and a hybrid version, too. The Honda Accord was just redesigned with dramatic new styling and a fantastic new cabin for the 2008 model year. The Nissan Altima is the closest competitor to the 2009 Mitsubishi Galant; it comes in four- and six-cylinder versions, with aggressive styling and great front-drive handling, but the Altima has more cohesive styling and a sportier feel overall.
