1999 ford expedition brake lights not working?

changed the bulbs and checked both fuse boxes. still can't get them to work. HELP!

  • jump the 2 wires at brake light switch and see if lights come on, if so change the switch Read More
  • The brake light switch is located below the brake pedal. You can get after market one at Auto Zone for under $10 and it take about 10 minutes to install. I've tried using Ford original and found that it only last a couple of years. The Auto zone still working after 3 years later and cheap too!
  • The brake light switch has gone bad, Not sure if you have a manual switch or a hydraulic switch. You should find a repair manual and see whether the switch is on the brake pedal or on the master cylinder. I would replace the switch next.
