I have a 2006 Ford Explorer that the heater/ac fan wont shut off.?

I pulled the relay out and the fan shut off. I put a new relay back in and have the same issue. The display in the console says the fan speed goes up and down but the actual fan is stuck on high.I have a control on the wheel as well as on the console.

  • Blower motor resistor is bad. Reference:Old mechanic/parts guy Read More
  • Mark is right but you can only get it from the dealer and is called a blower speed controller. It's basically a transistor and usually when it goes, that is the symptom that it can't be controlled and comes on high no matter what as it shorts to that
  • that's how you know the blower resistor is out when the ac only work on some speeds replace the resistor and you should be fine
