How big of tire can I put on stock 14" rim for 94 Ford Ranger?

I have a 94c ranger and have stock 14" rims with 235/60/14 tires. I want to truck to look meaner and sit higher. What kind of tire size should I get? I do not want to raise truck or have steering problems. What is goos size?? Thanks

  • There should be a sticker on the door jamb that says what size tires you can put on your truck. Technically you can put any size you want on but you might have to do some modification to the truck if you go with something that ford does not recommend. Reference:Work in a tire shop
  • You can only put 14" tires on 14" rims. If you want bigger tires you will have to get bigger rims. But remember, doing this will throw your speedometer off. When it says 60mph you could be doing 70.
  • get a set of mustang wheels 15" ,they are common and cheap , but if you go to big , they will rub the sway bar when you turn . Reference:my 94 ranger w 15" mustang wheels and 235/75/ 15 tires
