Low oil pressure on a 93' audi s4, 108,000 miles?

2.2 liter inline 5 turbo engine. The pressure is 1.5 bar (21 psi) at idle(6500 rpm) and 4.2 bar (60 psi) on the freeway(3000 rpm). The normal guage parameters are 2-5 bar. I know this is technicaly enough pressure just wondering if I should use 10-40 instead of the 10-30... Read More

  • On high mileage cars worn main and rod bearings as well as a warn crankshaft could be the culprit. You may check the oil filter as well, if it is plugged it could cause low oil pressure as well.   • oil is too thin you need 5-40 fully synthetic for that car or even better 5-50, also to protect the turbo, cheap 10-30 will not hold its viscosity in the five cylinder engine with that power output
