Would it be more fun to drive an Audi R8 manual or automatic?

I use to have an A4 manual and i really enjoyed that, ive been wondering with the super sports though is it as fun to drive manual or is the power better left to an automatic transmission?

  • On the R8 (or any modern Audi nowadays), the automatics can still be shifted on command using paddles on the steering wheel. And Audi has managed to make these shifts faster than any manual. Plus, the average driver with as much power as an R8 would eventually make a mistake with a manual and run it off the road... Read More
  • The better question would be, would it be more fun to drive a manual or an automatic. Personally I would always drive a car with manual transmission, no matter the make or model. So to answer your question manual would be more fun. If it doesn't have a clutch pedal. Then its still an automatic.
  • Well, if you are a sporty lover guy, go for the manual one. It will give you full freedom while racing/driving. You can handle more comfortably, overtake your neighbors faster and can enjoy the control of fast driving. Trust me if you choose the automatic one, i wont assure you about the result of your race.
  • Manual because you have more control of the car and you have more fun with the car.
  • Manual is a must, Go A8 with automatic

Other Choices:

The R8 isn't so much a competitor to Italian exotics such as the Ferrari F430 and Lamborghini Gallardo, as both of those vehicles appeal to a niche group of affluent enthusiasts and collectors who don't expect as much practicality in a vehicle and will wait in line for years for delivery. The Gran Turismo has a larger cabin and a backseat that's large enough for small adults, along with a distinctly Italian style, though it's heavier than the especially nimble R8. The Aston is similarly heavier, exclusive, and luxurious, and it's a great grand-touring vehicle. The Porsche 911 remains arguably the most practical choice in the group, with its more spacious front and rear cargo areas, and an enviable record for safety--that is, provided you don't think 911s are a dime a dozen.
