Recommended wiper blades for a Subaru Tribeca?

My local Subaru dealer tells me that only Subaru wiper blades can go on a Subaru. Is this true? If so why? and what quality/price am i looking at? If i can fit aftermarket ones, are there any recommendations? I'm even considering swapping the wiper arms so i can use... Read More

  • Of course the dealer is going to tell you to keep Subaru parts on your car, they want to sell parts too! (When it comes time for spark plugs, keep them OE but brakes, belts, wipers, fine to go aftermarket! The Anco 31 series is a nice blade! if its less exspensive then the Michelin, you'll be happy with either!... Read More
  • go to auto zone. any wiper they sell you can use. its not a particular brand you need, its a size. example, 18", 19", 20". some vehicles take two different sizes for the drivers and passengers side. i would highly recommend rain-x contour, great all weather blades.
  • That is crap. They just want to sell you expensive blades. Any after market that will fit, will do just nicely..and perhaps better.
  • I love the new sealed blade/ no spring designs that have come out. Bosch Icon & Trico Neoform are the two best IMO. More than likely they are BS you about other blades not fitting.
  • Your dealer is peeing on your leg and telling you it is raining. I have found that the Bosch Icon is the best wiper I have ever used. Add a little Rain-X to the mix and you will be set.

Other Choices:

The Subaru Tribeca has some highly refined, highly popular competition. The Honda Pilot is one of the best crossovers available--and for 2009, it gets a complete makeover, inside and out. The Nissan Murano is also new for 2009; it's more refined and has a beautiful new interior, but doesn't offer a third-row seat. The Toyota Highlander comes in two- and three-row versions and has a big V-6, along with very soft handling.
