I have a 2000 nissan maxima and my car won't get out of park!?

I was not on a hill nor did I use the parking brake. I have tried to move the shifter and no luck. The steering wheel is not locked and otherwise the car runs fine! I have checked the fluids and tried to see if the wires underneath were loose. NOTHING! any suggestions?... Read More

  • The shift lock may be messed up, you are stepping on the brake right? If the shift lock is non functional, there is usually a small access hole or opening you can take off and release the shift lock by hand.
